Jobs at home stuffing envelopes have been around since the 1950’s and started out as legitimate work opportunities for people looking to make an extra buck, while still being at home. However this job opportunity has radically changed with the new technological developments, and has become more or less obsolete. This however does not stop scam artists from advertising jobs at home stuffing envelopes, and using them as an opportunity to cheat people out of their hard earned money. Stuffing envelopes seems an easy enough task. You just sit around in your comfortable armchair, maybe even watch a movie, talk to the family or friends, while you stuff envelopes and as a result make fabulous amounts of money. Unfortunately this is not the reality of such job offers.
Most scam artists like to advertise jobs at home stuffing envelopes, and con people into thinking they could make as much as 2000$ a week by doing a simple job. The manner in which this scam works is as follows: you read an advertisement where you are told of nice, friendly looking people that stuff envelopes, which earns them large amounts of money. You are told that you could do the same simply by paying a start up fee, and receiving the start up package, which contains all the necessary information. You are told that you will get paid a certain amount of money for each stuffed envelope, usually an amount that is much too high for the work being done. However what you are not being told is what you will be stuffing into these envelopes, and you think its most likely advertisement material. You will not be wrong in thinking that, however you will not be advertising the products or services of well known companies, you will be advertising the start up package of the envelope stuffing business. At the same time, what they neglected to tell you is that you will only get paid for each envelope that results in the payment of a new start up package.
In order to avoid such scams you must have a few simple things in mind. First of all be realistic about how much you can earn with a home based job, be realistic about your skills and the time and effort you are willing to invest. If a job offer sounds too good to be true, it generally is. You should know that there is no such thing as easy money, in order to earn an income from home you will have to work hard. However there are many legitimate jobs that you can choose from and earning a decent income from home is definitely a possibility.
